POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 70-year-old man was seriously hurt in a collision in Broad Street in Bungay yesterday afternoon, Thursday May 8.
The man was walking in the area close to Clays Printers when he was struck by an open door on a passing coach.
He sustained head and facial injuries and was initially taken to the James Paget Hospital but later transferred to Addenbrookes in Cambridgeshire.
He is said to be in a serious but stable condition.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the coach prior to the incident and anyone who may have seen the collision itself.
Officers are also appealing for members of the public to contact them if they have seen any similar incidents after taking a call towards the end of last month where a coach was seen travelling with an insecure door.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Andrew Fossey at the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Police Headquarters on 01473 613500.
