Marathon runner from Blyford raises £1,000 for charity
After completing the Bungay Marathon with a personal best time, Blyford resident Peter Foster has raised £1,000 for Suffolk conservation charity Green Light Trust.
Mr Foster ran the marathon in three hours and 38 minues, finishing 40th out of the participating 177 runners.
He said: “My training and preparation paid off. I am very pleased with my race time - but I am even more delighted to have raised £1,000 for Green Light Trust.”
The Green Light Trust (GLT) introduces people to the natural world by developing projects that encourage people to have fun while carrying out practical conservation tasks.
One of the projects benefiting from GLT’s assistance is in Wenhaston where members of the Blyth Woods Project work with the staff and pupils of Wenhaston Primary School to create wildlife areas in and around the village.
