Mayors to go head to head in Challenge
MORE events in the Beccles v Bungay Challenge series are coming in - and with people's enthusiasm growing, others will be accepted up to April 30.The two civic heads - Beccles Mayor Jeff Harris and Bungay Mayor John Groom - are getting together for a challenge which is likely to be a quiz between the two town councils at Beccles, with a date and venue currently being negotiated.

The two civic heads - Beccles Mayor Jeff Harris and Bungay Mayor John Groom - are getting together for a challenge which is likely to be a quiz between the two town councils at Beccles, with a date and venue currently being negotiated. And there is talk of a challenge between the Rotary clubs in the two towns.
And the St Mary's Practice at Bungay has challenged Worlingham Pharmacy to a giant Jenga game on May 23 at Bungay.
But one event planned has fallen by the wayside because of a lack of participants - the dog obedience trials which had been planned for May 31.

One event took place this week, as Beccles Morning Women's Institute and Bungay WI played tiddlywinks at the Quaker Hall, with the next on the calendar the second leg of the cribbage challenge between the Royal British Legion branches. Tonight's clash is at Beccles RBL headquarters in Ravensmere.

March 28: Bungay Camera Club beat Beccles Camera club in a colour and black and white print challenge - one point to Bungay.
April 4: Beccles Helping Hands beat Bungay Green Dragon at skittles at the Bear and Bells - one point to Beccles
April 4: Beccles Royal British Legion beat Bungay Royal British Legion in the first leg of a cribbage challenge at Bungay.
April 6: Rowing races, Beccles and Bungay teams won one race each - half a point to each town.
April 16: Beccles Morning WI v Bungay WI, tiddlywinks, Beccles Quaker Hall, 8pm
April 18: Bungay Royal British Legion v Beccles Royal British Legion, cribbage, Beccles RBL club, Ravensmere, 8pm (second leg)
