Bungay’s ladies’ fashion shop Muse has won the Town Reeve’s window display competition organised in support of Bungay Town’s appearance in the Suffolk Senior Cup Final last Friday evening.
Town Reeve Stephen Went judged the display, featuring miniature astroturf football pitches with black dogs as players and messages of good luck, the best.
He presented proprietor Jan Putman with a bottle of bubbly and a framed certificate at her Earsham Street shop.
And he thanked all those who had taken part in the competition as a way of raising the profile of the team’s efforts in reaching the final, played at Portman Road, Ipswich, for the first time in 55 years. Though they lost the final to Woodbridge Town, the squad did the town proud, and the club itself was grateful to local businesses for getting behind the team.
This week shops in Bungay were decorating their windows to celebrate tomorrow’s royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle.
