New library screen to share news and events from Halesworth
A new information screen has been unveiled in Halesworth Library.
The screen will be used jointly by the library and Halesworth Town Council to inform residents and library users of events, news items and useful information.
The screen was donated to the town by Hughes Electrical, with the help of manger Paul Dupen.
It is mounted on a swivel bracket which allows it to be displayed inside the library or positioned in the window for passing residents and visitors to view.
Halesworth Town Council chairman Anne Fleming, said she was delighted that the council is embracing new technology to inform residents.
“The new information screen will complement the council’s new website, newsletters and the notice board to keep everyone in the town up to date with all the important news and events,” she said.
The project was jointly organised by council clerk Nick Rees, councillor David Wollweber and library manager Alison Hopkins.
The information will be regularly updated and town events can also be displayed on the screen. The council will require any posters in jpeg format, ideally within two weeks of the event.
The screen is currently displaying old photos of Halesworth between the news items, supplied by Halesworth and District Museum.
