SENIOR officers at Suffolk police have raised 2,000 to help fund care for breast cancer sufferers.

The money was raised at the force's Senior Women In Policing conference and was donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

It was raised through a raffle, contributions from the police band The Rhinos who performed at the conference and from the chief constable through the Police Property Act Fund.

Deputy chief constable Jacqui Cheer, who hosted the event, said: “The event was a great success and was complemented by the generosity and support our delegates showed towards the charity, whose work is crucial in helping women across the country who are affected by breast cancer.”
