Firefighters tackle blaze as one-tonne hay bale catches fire

Firefighters have been called to tackle a hay bale blaze.

Two fire crews were on the scene at a farm near Yoxford dealing with a hay bale - which weighed roughly one tonne - which was on fire on Sunday afternoon.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service responded to a call made a 1.19pm, reporting a small fire at Strickland Manor Hill.

A spokesperson for the service said two fire units from Saxmundham and Leiston were deployed to the scene and stayed until 2.25pm.

No police or ambulance services were called.
