A search is under way tonight for an elderly man who has gone missing from a residential home.
George Ward, 80, left The Limes residential home in London Road, Halesworth, at 8.45am today after telling his wife Hazel he was going to cycle to the nearby village of Wissett to prune fruit trees.
He was expected back by lunchtime but did not return.
A police helicopter was called to try to find Mr Ward. Police searched in Wissett and the nearby villages of Holton and Bramfield, where Mr Ward used to prune trees.
Members of Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue were mobilised to continue the search.
Mr Ward is white, 5ft 4ins tall, slim and was wearing green trousers, a green coat, cream jumper, flat cap and green wellington boots. He was riding a red bicycle. Mr Ward walks in a hunched style.
