A NEW show that takes a sly poke at the Noughties has been written by members of Beccles' Spotlight theatre group. And they are holding a preview evening for the production this week.
Heavens Below! a musical comedy by Stephen Picton and Mark Willment, is a spoof of post-war Hollywood movies with a spiritual element.
It has a large cast of angels, devils and sinners, and songs ranging from swing to '50's Hollywood kitsch. They include some waspish lyrics and a script that makes fun of television and the Noughties.
Anyone interested in taking part in the show should attend the preview evening on Tuesday at the Quaker Hall in Smallgate, Beccles, at 7.30pm.
People are needed on stage as well as backstage helping with scenery, lighting, costumes and sound.
Stephen Picton, the director and co-writer, will be discussing the production, which will be performed at Beccles Public Hall in late June.
