Pupils at Brampton Primary School have been testing out their first home grown vegetables from their new vegetable garden.

The area was created just before Easter following a grant for £500 from Suffolk County Councillor Tony Goldson’s locality budget.

The pupils have been working with Nicky Elliott, leader of the project, and her husband Graham, to sew the seeds and look after their vegetables. They planted broad beans, peas, lettuces, radishes, potatoes and garlic, which are all now ready to be dug up and tested. School headteacher Vicky Allen said: “It’s a really good way of teaching the children about the seasons and it is a good physical activity for them to do outside.”
