A funeral home is offering some important advice for those considering a new career direction.

Rosedale Funeral Home, in Beccles, are running a day’s training – entitled “An introduction to the funeral profession” – next Thursday, May 24.

Potential delegates will be able to meet existing members of the Rosedale team, learn about their roles and have a tour of the premises, as well as visiting a woodland burial park and an opportunity to see behind the scenes at a crematorium.

A tutor from the National Association of Funeral Directors will be on hand to discuss training and qualifications, including online training, apprenticeships and accredited diploma examinations.

Anne Beckett-Allen said: “Sometimes funeral directors and arrangers come to the profession later in their working lives, perhaps as a second career, whilst others are keen to join straight from school.

“We are always interested in meeting local people who know the area and the community that are interested in joining the profession, as they would know the area that they would be working within. We are in a unique position where we can provide full training within Rosedale, so the most important thing is that you have the right qualities – care, compassion and commitment.

“We offer a professional yet caring service for our bereaved families 24 hours a day, seven days a week and death does not respect Bank Holidays, personal situations or private lives.”
