A Beccles funeral home has twinned their toilet with loos in Uganda and Malawi to raise awareness on poverty and environmental sustainability.
In the lead up to fairtrade fortnight, the business have aimed to use compostable materials and reduce the use of plastics within the funeral home.
“Fairtrade fortnight this year is from February 25 to March 10 and it’s the most important time of the year to celebrate fairtrade achievements, whilst encouraging further commitments from other local businesses to take action for fairer trade” says Liz Hadridge, Funeral Director for Rosedale Funeral Home.
The business have welcomed in the public for a “tea and a wee” event for fairtrade fortnight to celebrate the twinning of the toilets as well as discuss the notion eco-friendly funerals.
The Fairtrade Trade open morning will be on March 1 from 10am to 12pm at the Rosedale Funeral Home.
