The official opening back in June on a wet Saturday morning saw Charlie Davis and his friend pull the ribbon to unveil the new facility with children enjoying playing on the new equipment.

Sarah Statt, play area co-ordinator, said: “Since that day we have been overwhelmed by the number of people using the facilities. Many more than we could have anticipated. All the hard work in the refurbishment by the volunteers has been forgotten, because seeing the enjoyment the play area has already brought to so many, made all the work worthwhile.”

To enable the play area committee to cover the costs of keeping the facility safe and enjoyable, two indoor car boot sales have been arranged with all money raised going to the play area’s upkeep. These will be held on Saturday, October 6 and Saturday, October 20 from 10am to noon at Ringsfield Village Hall, Church Road, Ringsfield.

Both indoor car boot sales will have refreshments available and will also be the ideal opportunity to view the other facilities on offer. Adjacent to the hall, is a playing field with tennis courts which can be hired out separately to the hall. There is also a cricket pitch and pavilion, with the pavilion available to be hired out.
