PUPILS in Beccles have relaunched an exchange project with a school for disabled children in Kenya.

The project, which links pupils from the Sir John Leman High School in Beccles with the Port Reitz School in Mombassa, has not taken place for four years, but now enthusiastic youngsters have set about raising funds for a visit to Africa in 2009.

The programme - renamed Maisha Urafiki, which means 'lifetime friendship' in Swahili - aims to raise money for a cultural exchange.

The exchange gives the Kenyan children the chance to stay with families in and around Beccles in the summer of 2010.
