Loddon Scouts have raised £320 for the ShelterBox charity after taking part in a survival challenge.
The Scouts, aged 11 to 13, spent a night sleeping under shelters they had made and cooking over an open fire.
Shelter boxes cost £590 and contain all the basic requirements for a family of up to six people to set up a home when there is a disaster. They include a tent, thermal fleece blankets, stove, cooking equipment, water containers and filtration, warm hat and gloves and a children’s activity pack.
The shelter boxes are located in strategic places around the world and a trained shelter box response team can have them in place within hours of a disaster.
The Scouts presented their cheque to Heather Babb, local ShelterBox representative.
