THE first flurries of snow fell over Suffolk this morning and were predicted to continue during the day.But the snowfall was not expected to be as substantial as that which closed schools and bought traffic chaos at the beginning of the year.

But the snowfall was not expected to be as substantial as that which closed schools and bought traffic chaos at the beginning of the year.
John Law, a forecaster with Norwich-based Weatherquest, said the temperature overnight had been about 1C although it could have reached freezing in some isolated areas.
That was expected to rise to 3C during the day.
Mr Law said: “Through this morning and into the afternoon we are looking at some wintery showers feeding from the east which will give a light dusting but we are not looking at huge amounts of snowfall.
“They should become more isolated through the day time with some good brightness and sunshine too.”
Snow had begun falling in the Tattingstone area by 5.45am today. By 7am it was snowing over Ipswich town centre.
