A sports club wants permanent permission to hold social events at its premises until 1am.

Bungay and District Sports Association, based on Pirnhow Street in Ditchingham, was given temporary permission to hold sporting and social events on the site in July 2006, including opening until 1am on New Year's Eve.

Now the club wants to make that arrangement permanent and increase the number of days when it can open late. It has applied to the Broads Authority to stay open until 1am on 15 days throughout the year.

The authority's planning committee will consider the application on Friday and officers have recommend-ed permission should be granted - although the club should not be allowed to play amplified music outside the building and should only use fireworks on one day of the year.

A report says the authority has received no complaints about the late opening or increased use of the building in the last year.
