THERE is still time to nominate people for three Bungay awards which will be presented at the annual Civic evening on May 2.Nominations are being sought for the Bezant Cup, awarded annually to the person who is considered to have made the largest contribution to sport in Bungay or the Bungay resident who is considered to have made the largest contribution to a particular sport or sports whether in Bungay or elsewhere.
THERE is still time to nominate people for three Bungay awards which will be presented at
the annual Civic evening on May 2.
Nominations are being sought for the Bezant Cup, awarded annually to the person who is considered to have made the largest contribution to sport in Bungay or the Bungay resident who is considered to have made the largest contribution to a particular sport or sports, whether in Bungay or elsewhere.
Names are also need for The Civic Award 2008, which seeks to recognise those people who give exceptional, and often unsung, community service within the town of Bungay.
The third award is the Trevor Collyer Cup 2008. This award will be presented to the young person (aged 11-18)
living in Bungay or being educated
in one of the Bungay schools who
has during the preceding 12
months given outstanding service
and commitment to their team, club
or voluntary association including school team or other out-of school activity
Nominations should be made by letter, email (morrow.flyingcloud@gmail.com) or on the nomination form included here. Forms are also available from the Waveney Local Office in Broad Street or Bungay Library in Wharton Street. Nominations must be submitted to Bungay Town Council, 11 Wharton Street, Bungay NR35 1EL by Wednesday
Tickets for the civic evening, at the community centre at 7.15pm, are £10, including supper and a glass of wine, and are available from town councillors or by ringing 01986 892361.
