Dancers, singers and actors from Gillingham-based Centre Stage performed a Journey to Oz to a packed audience of families and friends at Beccles Public Hall.

More than 60 students took part in the show - the largest and most colourful production for the dance and drama school since it was founded less than six years ago. The event showcased a range of styles including ballet, tap, modern and boys’ street. Dance performances by all age groups were intertwined with the story of Oz, with songs and popular tunes.

Aleysha Staines, founder and principal of Centre Stage, said: “For many of my younger students this was their first ever experience on a stage and they were all brilliant. A show gives them the chance to show off their moves in a fun and supportive atmosphere, and something to feel proud of.”

Centre stage run daytime, after school and evening classes on weekdays during school term time at Gillingham Village Hall. For more details email Aleysha.staines@tiscali.co.uk
