Town’s excitement as skatepark officially opens

After four years of campaigning, planning and building a town will celebrate the opening of a £150,000 skatepark.
Since 2015, the Beccles Skatepark Community and Beccles Town Council have been working tirelessly to replace the ageing wooden skatepark in Common Lane South.

Today (May 5) the dream will become a reality as they officially open the park in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
From 10am to 5pm at Common Lane, in Beccles representatives from the town council and skatepark community will host free skateboarding lessons and skate, scooter as well as BMX competition.
Following the completion of the park, chair of the Beccles Skatepark Community, Nik Rose said: “It is all worth it, I had the best sleep last night - it has been four years and it is finally done.
“It was so stressful, I had people asking me on a daily basis when it will open.”
