A woman was sexually assaulted by a teenager in front of her child in a town centre during the middle of the afternoon.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after the assault which took place on Gresham Road in Beccles at 1.30pm on Saturday, October 19.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: "A group of five to seven teenage boys were in the area and they were walking alongside a mother, aged in her early 30s, and her child when one of the males put his arm out and hit the female on her arm.

"He then groped her right breast causing her alarm and distress."

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who knows the identity of the offender, is urged to contact Beccles Police, quoting crime reference 37/63925/19.
