The contest attracted entries from 47 children along with 13 adults, who were allowed to enter for the first time.

The theme for this year was vehicle designs and the competition launched at the start of the summer holidays to give children and their parents something fun to do.

Shop manager Dan Lovett came up with the idea four years ago, and said he was “over the moon” with the number of entries.

He said: “The creativity and imagination which goes into them is fantastic.

“We displayed all of the entries in the window and then I took photos of them all and sent them to Lego’s head office in Slough for the staff to
judge.”

The winner in the children’s category was 14-year-old Harvey Brennan, who attends the Sir John Leman High School, with his jet aircraft.

He said: “I do it when I’ve got a bit of spare time and I quite like building vehicles.

“I’m very pleased to win and very surprised.”

And taking home the top spot for the adults was 39-year-old Andy Masterson of Beccles with his racing car.

He said: “I’ve been building Lego ever since I was little.

“My four-year-old son entered so I thought I would enter for the adults. We enjoy doing it together.”

Both winners were awarded special Lego building sets, and Mr Lovett also presented prizes for the children up to sixth place.

And Mr Lovett is already planning for next year’s competition, which he said will have a Lego Ninjago theme.
