Police have issued a warning to householders following reports of scam emails in the area.

The warning has been issued about “very convincing” TV Licensing scam emails.

With a warning message posted on the Lowestoft Police Facebook page, a spokesman said: “There are still emails which look very convincing, going out to people stating there is a problem with your direct debit or similar to do with TV Licensing.

“Do not follow the links on these emails or give any information with regards to your bank details.

“TV Licencing state they will always use donotreply@tvlicensing.co.uk or donotreply@spp.tvlicensing.co.uk to email you.

“On a mobile device select the sender’s name to show the email address.”
