Visitors will take a step back in time at the annual Loddon and Chedgrave Victorian Evening next Friday, December 8.
Running from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, the evening commences on Church Plain in Loddon where there will be a grand switch on of the Christmas lights by Father Christmas before he heads off to his grotto at Bay Tree House, ready to hear the Christmas wishes of children of all ages.
Heather Tew, lead organiser of the Victorian Evening, said: “Many activities are planned for the evening, such as Punch and Judy, a fire engines display and Funky Feet performing. In addition, most of the local shops will be open and hosting Christmas festivities, welcoming customers old and new.”
Other attractions will include a display of Victorian Christmas memorabilia from the Strangers Museum at Loddon Library, a farmers’ market in the library annexe filled with festive goodies and crafts, face painting on Bridge Street, open house at Holy Trinity Church and St John’s Church in George Lane and vintage steam engines on the Co-Op forecourt.
