There were shields, swords and longboats galore as an army of Beccles pupils enjoyed an interactive Viking Day.
The Year 5 class at Albert Pye Community Primary School, in Peddars Lane, donned their best Viking garb for a day of fun-filled and interactive history.
Pupils became Vikings for the day to learn all about the Scandinavian Norsemen who explored Europe by its seas and rivers for trade, raids, colonisation and conquest.
a school spokesman said: “We learned how to build a shield wall and marched into battle.
“We voyaged across the seas from Scandinavia to the lands of England and raided the monasteries - stealing silver and gold and kidnapping monks to keep as our slaves.
“Ms Minter, Mrs Everett and Mrs Howlett were dressed as Viking ladies and to finish off the day we explored Viking food.
A special Viking visitor also attended the school to tell tales and teach the Year 5 pupils.
