A NEW village sign, designed and made in Norfolk, was officially unveiled in Thurton yesterday.
The sign depicts images of St Ethelbert taken from a stained glass window in the village church.
It replaces the original wooden sign, which stood in place for 40 years but fell apart a couple of years ago. The new sign was paid for by Thurton Parish Council, cast at Thurton foundry and the plinth was built by retired local builder John Rudd. It has been painted by villager Linda Alden.
It was unveiled by county councillor Adrian Gunson and blessed by the Rev Dr Peter Knight.
