An event is being staged at Earsham Wetland Centre to recruit new volunteers to help at the site.

An open afternoon and evening will be held on Friday, May 11, from 4pm to 7pm, for anyone interested in volunteering.

There will be a guided tour with one of the trustees followed by a presentation from trustee Ben Potterton on ways you can help the centre’s work continue to flourish, including educational and conservation programmes and on-going maintenance and improvements.

Mr Potterton said: “We are so very grateful to our current volunteers and we look forward to welcoming new members to the team where we hope you will enjoy yourselves and make new friends and we will be recognising the immense contribution volunteers give of their valuable time and skills by having an annual ‘volunteers’ barbecue’. You will also receive a refreshment allowance on your attendance days and free entry to lectures.”

Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear will be required.
