A woman in her 20s was arrested after registering more than four times over the legal drink drive limit.

Suffolk Constabulary were called at 9.20pm on Tuesday, July 24, following reports of a collision at Barnby on the A146 Beccles Road.

Police from Lowestoft arrived at the scene - near to Barnby Nursery Centre - to find there had been a two-car crash between a Ford Fiesta and Suzuki Swift. None of the passengers in either of the cars were injured.

As officers conducted routine procedures at the roadside, a woman in her 20s who had been driving one of the vehicles registered a positive breath test of 148ugs - more than four times over the drink drive limit. The woman was subsequently arrested.

The legal drink drive limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is 35ugs. In Scotland it is 22ugs.
