You can have a chance at shaping the future of Beccles and its town council after two vacancies have arisen.

Two vacancies for town councillor positions on Beccles Town Council have opened to the public, and offer the chance to shape the future of the town as a member of its local democracy.

The positions are for “casual vacancies co-option” in the town’s centre ward.

Anyone who wishes to apply to be a councillor must be a resident of the town or live within three miles of Beccles, occupy premises or land in the town, or be employed in the town.

Those who are selected will be able to put forward ideas and vote on decisions on behalf of the town as a voluntary member of the council until May 2023 when council elections take place.

If you feel you would be a suitable candidate for these positions, inform town clerk Claire Boynes by emailing claire.boynes@beccles.info with a brief profile of yourself.

Applications must be received by 5pm on Friday, July 24.

More information about being a councillor can be found on the council’s website.
