The Beccles Hospital Cup, which has been running since 1968, was won at Beef Meadow on Sunday when a record amount of £775 was raised for the hospital funds when, in the final, Kirkley beat Beccles Town by a 3-1 margin.
Kirkley took a 2-0 lead after the score-line was blank at half-time, with two goals scored by striker Lee Hunter. Norwich City's Chris Martin's brother, Anthony, then pulled a goal back for Beccles, but the match was wrapped up when man-of-the-match Paul Highfield hit an unstoppable shot from 30 yards out to bring the score-line to 3-1.
The Hospital Cup was presented by the matron to Kirkley captain Leon Harewood in front of a 150-strong crowd.
