They did it in style with a 10-0 win over Framingham Gull. There were no problems for Aaron Hacon, Colin Westney and Jason Peck, although Jason was taken to a third leg in two of his three matches.
The Hales Gnats team of David Flatt, Matt Howes and Gordon Howes also had a 10-0 win over Framingham Nutters. David dropped a leg to Tom Herne, but Gnats came through otherwise unscathed.
The tightest match of the week was at the Woodton King's Head where Magpies sneaked a 6-4 victory over Hales Eagles. David Constable won all three of his matches for the Eagles, including third leg victories over Barry Fortune and Alf Stubbs.
Barry won his other two matches, including a third-leg victory over Derek Clark, and Doug Cheer also won his other two matches, including another third-leg victory over Derek. It all came down to the final doubles match and Alf and Doug held their nerve to win.
