FATHER and son took the honours at Beccles Golf Club on Saturday when the Roger Harrod Cup was contested.Niall Gill won the event with the outstanding score of 47 stableford points which has resulted in his handicap being drastically reduced.

Niall Gill won the event with the outstanding score of 47 stableford points which has resulted in his handicap being drastically reduced.

His father Pat Gill was runner up with 41 points, also earning a handicap cut. Mike Garrood earned third place (39 points) with Terry Squires (38) and Jim Redpath also 38 points completing the list of prize winners.

Club captain Alan Ereira welcomed Jonathon Harrod the sponsor and his daughters Olivia and Anna to the clubhouse and thanked Jonathon for his continued generous sponsorship of the event.

He also thanked Shirley for the buffet which completed a very enjoyable morning's competition.

The Seniors' Cup will tee off at 8.15am tomorrow with non-eligible members playing a separate event at the same time.
