Barsham in need of some reinforcements

PUBLISHED: 11:06 20 October 2017

Barsham entertained First & Last in a match what was considered to be a six-pointer and slumped to a 7-1 defeat.

They were again forced to rely on an outfield player in Josh Youngs in goal and he was in no way to blame for any of the goals, with slack marking leaving him exposed.

Barsham also only had 11 players due to various reasons, despite the continued hard work by manager Nick Holmes to get some additional committed players. They welcomed new signing James Tucker who played up front alongside Harry Frost.

There were spells when Barsham played some good football but they lacked any conviction in front of goal. On the other hand the visitors punished the Barsham defence when they carved out openings. Frost converted a penalty in the first half to reduce the arrears to 3-1.

This weekend Barsham travel to Bildeston Rangers in the second round of the Suffolk Junior Cup (2.30pm).
