Beccles Town FC U18s, sponsored by Broadwater Mouldings, returned to action against AFC Royals at a cold College Meadow.

Beccles started brightly, crafting four good chances in the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately, they couldn’t convert any and paid for that. Royals regained their composure and took the lead from close range, a lead they maintained until half time.

The second half had hardly begun when Beccles conceded a penalty which was converted. That spurred Beccles into a thrilling fightback with Jolyon in the centre and James on the wing both instrumental. With Beccles on the front foot it was vital they scored the next goal. On 65 minutes a through ball saw Callum calmly slot the ball under the advancing keeper. The comeback was complete with five minutes remaining when pressure lead to James volleying in at the far post. Both sides had chances to snatch victory but the 2-2 final scoreline was a fitting one.
