BECCLES hit the goal trail against the Anglian Combination top-flight strugglers.
Beccles kicked off with one change after the defeat by Kirkley with the injured Damon Bensley replaced by the previous week’s scorer Ray Masters.
They conceded in the first minute. A poor clearance by keeper Cable fell to Brandon’s Ian Anderson, who put them ahead.
Any thought of a hangover from the Kirkley defeat were soon dispelled, however, when Beccles equalised through Masters. One soon became two when Alan Remblance returned to the goal trail after five blank weeks to put the visitors ahead.
Ant Martin soon made it 3-1 for a rampant Beccles. Ten minutes later came two goals in two minutes, the first from captain Tom Roberts was followed less then a minute later by Remblance getting his second and Beccles’ fifth.
With half-time approaching Kevin Waterman gave Beccles a 6-1 lead.
Then from a Martin Barre corner John Evan out-jumped the Beccles defence to score Brandon’s second goal for 6-2 at the break.
The second half saw Beccles dominate twice hitting a post and having the ball cleared off the line on numerous occasions.
They finally scored their seventh goal from a Martin header.
From a rare Brandon attack Masters conceded a penalty for 7-3.
Beccles brought on Sam Roberts for Toby Hall and James Fern for Shaun Wigley.
Tomorrow, Beccles travel to Wroxham Reserves, kick-off 2.30pm.
Meanwhile, Beccles Reserves entertained East Harling and also went 1-0 down early in the match.
However, despite controlling the game for long periods, the very young side could not find a breakthrough.
Evergreen James Ellis was in fine form in goal and in front of him the impressive Jack Tipple, Beccles’ defence looked in fine fettle.
But the attack could not convert despite wizardry from Matt King.
East Harling added a second slightly against the run of play and the game finished in a strong wind and driving rain with a 2-0 win for the visitors.
This week the Reserves entertain against league leaders Harleston, kick-off 2.30pm at College Meadow.
