After the success of the Beccles Middle School Year 6 boys' cricket team in reaching the county finals, this week it was the turn of the girls.

They arrived at Denes Oval looking smart in their whites and soon had the opportunity to demonstrate their new-found talent for over-arm bowling. They won their first match against Harris B by 44 runs with some great play from Amy and Amelia.

They then continued in the same way against Kirkley, beating them by 57 runs thanks to great batting by Savannah, Elise and Lauren.

This took them to the semi-final against Harris A.

This match was a little tighter, but thanks to some intelligent batting from Tempest and Lily the Beccles girls won by 30 runs.

This set up a final against Lothingland. Both teams played really well and it was a match worthy of the final.

The Beccles girls batted well and Shannon and Fern led the scoring to finish on 230-1.

The fielding was then tight and the bowling superb and Lothingland ended on 210-4.

This left the Beccles team victorious and sends them to the county finals alongside the boys.
