David Trunks held the Captain’s Appreciation Day to thank all those who continue to help in the improvements at a Beccles Golf Club.
Long-serving stalwart David Wells was thanked for continued excellent work caring for the greens, which are being developed by president Pat Gill.
Will Whyte also earned praise for his unstinting support of the club and the efficient management of all competitions, an important source of extra revenue.
Sue Trunks was shown appreciation for her skills, with the renovation of windows, doors, radiators and ongoing clubhouse improvements very welcome.
In the Stableford event that followed Benjamin Turner completed a hat-trick of victories with 38 points after a slow start in the frozen conditions. A fine closing four holes played in two under par saw him finish two ahead of Phil Rhodes and the admirable Will Whyte, who battled illness to take third.
