Beccles Amateur Sailing Club saw Series B in full swing on Saturday and hosted the third leg of the area Woodcock Salver for Enterprises on Sunday.

Conditions were miserable on Saturday but there was a good fleet out on the water, especially for the Clubhouse Trophy. Nigel and Abby Shipley in a Norfolk continued their recent good form by winning this pursuit race, closely followed by R Deller and G Roll in an Enterprise.

The Coronation Cup saw the Norfolk's dominating again with another win for team Shipley followed in by the vice-commodore, Tim Haycock and crew Jane Thomas.

Being determined to hold on to the Bacchante Trophy, N and A Shipley completed a triple by again winning in this Norfolk OD challenge. With J Blankley in a Laser and R Deller with crew G Roll in their Ent taking firsts in the other two senior campaigns, the OOD, Rory Kelsey, was kept busy.

The conditions favoured the Topper fleet in the first race of the Mirror One Trophy with helms Milo Phillips-Beck and Harry Shipley taking first and second place respectively, keeping just ahead of Hugh Braidwood in his Optimist who saw his fortunes change later by winning the second race.

Sunday saw Beccles basking in glorious sunshine and with a light breeze from the north for the Enterprise fleet in the Woodcock Salver on the Waveney.

This open event drew visitors from as far away as Ufford SC near Woodbridge.

Winners were Richard and Matthew Deller in Cuddles.

In the second race visitors John and Philippa Adcroft in their Ent One Last Time Biggles proved to be more than a match for the host club boats by just finishing ahead of Kevin and Elena Edwards of BASC to leave three crews all on four points going into the last race of the day.

Kevin and Elena Edwards in their boat Minnie won this leg of the Woodcock Salver and also the Arapaho Shield for being winners on the day.
