Beccles ladies chase top trophy

THE Beccles Ladies Vivienne Trophy team have emulated the men's Denny Plate team by reaching the last eight of the competition.

They did this by achieving a resounding win over the Gallow Club from Fakenham, winning on all four rinks for a match score of 95-49.

In the quarter-finals Beccles will play Lincoln at neutral Ely on Thursday, February 7. A coach will be taking players and supporters on the day.

Away: J Fennell 30, J Green 10, A Ward 22, F Burlingham 12.

Beccles A face an uphill struggle if they are to reach the final of the Mixed County League after losing for the first time in three years on Sunday.

Title rivals Sole Bay A ran out narrow winners by 75-72.

Beccles A now need to win on all rinks in their final match and hope that Sole Bay drop at least two points from their last two fixtures.

The B team had a good 6-1 win against Felixstowe with a match score of 96-81.
