Beccles Rhinos U9 and U10 minis fielded an enthusiastic mini rugby team of 10 rugby players who took part in a fun, mini three-way tournament hosted by Stowmarket RFC.

Ely RFC were guests as well. The Minis played very well and drew their first game against Ely (2 points all) and then won their second match convincingly against their hosts Stowmarket.

Beccles had a great first game, scoring two tries against Ely - one straight from a kick off.

In the interval between the two games, the Beccles coaches encouraged the team to support each other, to keep passing the ball and to lay back the ball when tackled which resulted in a resounding 4-0 victory over the hosts Stowmarket.

When asked who was the man of the match, the coach said: “They all were, and it was a great team effort!”

Many thanks to all the mums, Dads, supporters and team coaches who made the trip to Stowmarket in such bad weather to give their encouragement.

Thankfully, they were all rewarded when the rain cleared as the team left the clubhouse to start playing their games - the sun obviously shines on Beccles Mini Rhinos.

As a reminder, this Sunday is training session at home and the next match is an away game in Wymondham on January 10.
