Beccles were eventually bowled out for 200 with Fordham taking 3-30 and Stokes 4-39.
Mattishall started the chase losing an early wicket with Cross out lbw to Vihm for 14 but after that a 140-run partnership between Stokes and Lockwood saw them well on the way to victory with Lockwood making 92 and Stokes 41 before three late wickets fell with Turrell, Porter and Young picking up one each also, but Mattishall were always in control in the end winning with the loss of only four wickets down to avoid relegation.
