Beccles Town were buoyed by their mid-week 2-0 home win over local rivals Loddon United.

The goals came from a superb glancing header off Andy Woods' corner by Alan Remblance and a clinical run and finish off a Martin Myhill through-ball by Paul Heaney.

Last Saturday Beccles Town entertain league leaders Dersingham Rovers, who were soon under pressure from a lively home attack.

Only a fine block from Armit in the visitors' goal prevented Ant Martin from opening the scoring. Beccles had the lion's share of play but missed several chances until just before the break.

Their persistence paid off when Kevin Waterman nipped in from the left following a defensive mix-up to score from close range.

Second half the visitors' attacks were easily dealt with by the new central defensive partnership of Neil McMorran and Tom Roberts.

The latter doubled Beccles' lead when he headed the ball against the underside of the bar and into the net following a melee from a corner.

That was game, set and match to Beccles as the visitors had not looked likely to score, although creating several good chances.

Alan Remblance went close with a late effort but Dersingham were saved by a post and Beccles' second 2-0 win in two matches lifted them to a more comfortable mid-table position.

Tomorrow, the first team have a tough trip to Cromer Town, kick-off 2.30pm, while the Becles Reserves entertain Cromer Town Reserves on College Meadow, kick-off also at 2.30pm.
