Beccles Rugby Club’s U18 captain Jazmin Wones awarded has been awarded one of the three places available on the RFU’s National Youth Council following an interview at Twickenham.

The National Youth Council is made up of 12 young people from across the country. They will have their first meeting in October at Twickenham to plan the season’s projects and events. They also have to volunteer to help out at England games.

Jazmin, 17, began playing at Beccles just three years ago. Last season, as well as playing for Beccles and being captain for Eastern Counties U18 girls, Jazmin did over 100 voluntary hours for the RFU’s Young Rugby Ambassador programme by coaching, refereeing and helping at events. There was an awards ceremony at Twickenham where she was given an award for ‘Changing Perceptions’ as she is keen to keep working towards changing people’s perception of women’s rugby.
