The B-team played Sole Bay B and won by 96-66 for a 5-2 points result. The match score was built around Ben Harber's rink which recorded a 48-4 win.

With one match left to play it looks as if the B team will finish in a very creditable third place.

The A-team completed their league fixtures with a 96-53 win against Lowestoft Railway for a 7-0 points score.

The result means that Sole Bay A need to collect 12.5 points out of a possible 14 to pip Beccles for a place in the final.

Beccles will have eight players in the Suffolk team to play Norfolk in the Eastern Counties League match at Mid Suffolk (Stowmarket) on Sunday.

They are: M Todd, M Cole, J Catchpole, D Todd, S Cook, D Wood, B Harber and I Catchpole.

Then on Monday and Tuesday, Beccles have representatives in the area finals of the National Pairs and Triples.

In the pairs on Monday it will be Mark and David Todd and on Tuesday they will be joined in the triples by Cyril Moore.

Both matches are being played at Norfolk Bowling Club.
