Beccles Town hosted Brooke in a game that was very winnable for both sides after a little downpour before the start of play.

Brooke won the toss and decided to bat. After 19 overs they were 40-0 after some tight bowling from openers David Turrell and Daniel Vihm.

It was Gary Caswell in his second over who struck, removing opener Cushing for 24, caught behind by Patnell, leaving them 46-1. They then lost overseas player Vinny Parikh, caught behind by Patnell for eight off leg-spinner David George, to be 52-2.

Some tight bowling in the middle of the innings between George and Caswell, claiming seven wickets between them, had Brooke at 129-7 before rain stopped play for about 45 minutes.

In the end Brooke scraped to 180 all out thanks to 47 from opener Panter, 33 from Sheehy and 24 from Cushing with David George taking 4-47 and Gary Caswell 3-56.

Beccles began their chase for 181 dreadfully on 9-4 with openers Sydenham (5) and Vihm (1) out, followed by Patnell (0) and Richard Turrell (1).

Beccles were playing catch-up from then after an ordinary start with Jonathon Puxley contributing 23 and Gary Caswell 23 not out to be the top scorers, with Richard Porter (21) and David George (21).

Pritty with 3-19 and Habersthom and Parikh two wickets each were the best bowlers in a game that Brooke controlled from the start of Beccles' innings.

Beccles B won the toss and put Sprowston into bat. Sprowston looked promising early on and were starting to make progress when C Squire clean- bowled Sprowston's opener D Watkins, after which the wickets started to tumble with C Squire and Lewis Buck sharing the wickets, taking three and five respectively and G Wentworth taking two.

Sprowston were all out for 97 which meant Beccles keep their record of not conceding more than 100 runs this season. C Squire continued his run of good form, bowling 12 overs for only seven runs with nine maidens. Sprowston's best scorer was J Poole (20).

After tea Beccles took to the crease and made a safe and solid start with B Patrick and G Wentworth playing themselves in.

But when Patrick was bowled by Ferguson the wickets came fast for Sprowston and Beccles were soon up against it.

Before they could manage any sort of partnership Beccles collapsed and were all out for 31. T Kittle took 4-11 off five overs for Sprowston.

Although there were many catches throughout the day the pick of the bunch was definitely from Ben Vickers,. Fielding at gully he dived brilliantly to take a difficult catch off Buck's swinging delivery.

Travis Perkins man-of-the-match: Lewis Buck.
