AFTER the torrential rain on Saturday, the Waveney AC organised Fritton Lake Cross Country on Sunday was run in very muddy conditions - and there were a few shoes lost in the mud!

In the junior race Sammy James was 56th in a time of 21:21 (really great run for probably one of the youngest in the field).

The previous Sunday eight Black Dogs took part in the Yarmouth 10k.

The field of over 400 runners included some top quality runners with a Birchfield Harrier winning the race in 30:43.

First to finish for Bungay was Robin Wilson in 77th in a time of 43:39 with Bruce Rayner just behind in 85th in 44:27. Neil Thomas was next in 144th in 48:28 followed in by Bob Paul in 189th in 50:37. Karen Gedge, returning to fitness after injury, finished in 209th in 51:47 with Robin Farrar in 238th (53:14) and then Philip Neave in 244th (53:35).
