THE Bungay Black Dog Running Club turned out in force on Sunday for the annual Bungay Marathon and Half Marathon with a total of 32 members taking part.
The Bungay Marathon was won by Carl Prewer of the Lowestoft Road Runners in a course record of 2 hours 42 minutes and 56 seconds. Matthew Lawes of the Black Dogs achieved an excellent third in 2-58 with Ian Taylor in 65th (3-36) and Richard Dye, 133rd (3-58). Bobbie Sauerzapf and Shona Bendix were the two women Black Dogs who ran the marathon in 137th (3-59) and 187th (4-29) respectively. There were 218 finishers.
Adam Craske was the first Black Dog home in the Bungay Half Marathon in 12th (1-25) which had 424 finishers. Darrel Oldman was 61st (1-37), Lewis Flatt, 72nd (1-40), Joe Hornsey, 82nd (1-41) and Robert James, 110th (1-46). Laura Devereux was the first female Black Dog back in 139th (1-48) followed by David Waterman, 142nd (1-49), Annette Manning, 150th (1-50), Darryl Futter, 154th (1-51), Neil Thomas, 162nd (1-51), Hugh Roberts, 180th (1-53), Nigel Gilham, 184th (1-54), Colin Whale, 220th (1-58), David Gilbert, 227th (1-58), and Nathan Siater, 237th (2-00).
Judy Potter, 262nd (2-03) was first in her V65 age group and also part of the fastest female team with Laura Devereux and Annette Manning.
