The Bungay Black Dogs fielded their marathon team for the Dereham 10 mile race on Sunday.

This Norfolk County Championship ensured a large and competitive field of 246 runners. Chris Chorley (fresh from the Halstead Marathon) was first back in 41st in 68min 05secs. Richard Dye (London M) was 69th (72:31), Bobbie Sauerzapf (Halstead M) was 142nd (81:22) and Neil Thomas (Belfast M) was 159th (83:24). Philip Neave was 231st (98:18) followed by Jacques Groen in 232nd (99:27).

On the same day, Rob Donovan returned from injury to run the Oxford Town and Gown 10K. He came 2,246th out of 2,650 runners in 1-04.

Ian Taylor ran the Luxembourg Marathon which is dubbed 'The Night Run' due to its 6pm start. He started at the very back of the 5,500 plus field. He weaved his way through hundreds of slower-pace runners and managed to salvage a time of 3hr 26min coming 173rd overall out of a total of 1,057 finishers. It is a pity the chaotic journey robbed him of a position near the start line as conditions were perfect. It was Taylor's sixth marathon in eight weeks.
