Black Dogs warm to task

BUNGAY Black Dog Runners attended four events on Sunday in unseasonably warm weather.

There was a club outing to the Felixstowe Half-Marathon, where Robert James was the first Black Dog home in 52nd place (1 hour 36 minutes).

He was followed by seven other club members – Richard Dye 78th (1-40), David Waterman 117th (1-45), David Gilbert 179th (1-51), Bob Paul 264th (2-03), club captain Karen Gedge 296th (2-06), Sally Nicholls 301st (2-06) and Robin Farrar 356th (2-14). There were 431 finishers.

The Perkins Great Eastern Half-Marathon at Peterborough attracted over 3,100 runners, including Black Dogs Chris Chorley 217th (1-29), Jon Wiles 380th (1-34), Tom Pullinger 624th (1-41) and Bobbie Sauerzapf 899th (1-46).

One hundred and sixty-one runners turned up for the Marriott’s Way 10km run along the popular footpath between Aylsham and Reepham.

Black Dogs’ Adam Craske had a marvellous run, coming 10th in 41mins 21sec, followed by Philip Neave, 70th (53:06) and Bob Jack, 150th (68:00). Finally, Ian Taylor bagged another marathon at Leicester in 3hrs 29mins, coming 100th of 578 runners.
