Bligh always there for Bungay

GOALKEEPER Jimmy Bligh was the only ever-present in the Bungay Town side in the season just ended.

He played in all 35 games, with the final one, the Beccles Hospital Cup semi-final against Kirkley and Pakefield, marking his 50th appearance for the club.

Mark Harvey, who missed only three games, finished the season one short of his 150th game for the club, while Craig Hunting's 19 games took his total to 287, putting him 18th in the all-time appearance list.

Kevin Talbot, despite playing less than two-thirds of the games, was again top scorer with 12 goals, giving him an aggregate for the club of 62.

Joe MacFarlane finished second with eight goals, while Tom Amiss scored seven in the 11 games he played towards the end of the season.

In all 46 players figured in the first team in a season in which the Black Dogs finished fourth on points, and fifth on goal difference, in the Dolphin Autos Anglian Combination Division Two, thanks to an unbeaten final 12 games of which they won 10 and drew two.

Their defensive record was second best in the division, and seventh best among the 64 teams in the top four divisions. They scored 60 goals in all competitions.
